Benback is a perl program that randomly chooses an image from a directory to display to the background of your screen. It chooses a new image every so often (configurable).
There are other programs out there that do the same thing, in fact, most of them do a better job. But I wanted to learn something about perl, and so I wrote my own. You are welcome to use it if you want. If you want to check out the alternatives, search freshmeat.net for keywords such as "background" and "image."
